DESCRIPTION
Lysimachia clethroides Gooseneck Loosestrife
Gooseneck Loosestrife produces unique spikes of white flowers that are bent like a goose’s neck, appearing in late summer. Wonderful for cutting. Plants quickly spread to form a wide patch, so allow it room. Has a tendency to take over in a perennial border: place this carefully. Excellent at the waterside or in a moist location. Foliage develops good red fall color, particularly when grown in full sun. Clumps are easily divided in the spring. New growth is late to emerge from the ground, often waiting until well into May. Attractive to butterflies.
