Planting Instructions
Rose is a drought-tolerant plant that is afraid of waterlogging. Almost all xerophytes are afraid of waterlogging. If it is a potted plant, it should be cultivated in an unglazed clay pot, and the principle of "not watering unless dry, and watering thoroughly when watering" should be strictly followed;
If you water the rose frequently (especially avoid excessive watering on rainy days with high humidity and low evaporation), the roots of the rose will be soaked and rotten like "pickles" (essentially different from the principle of hydroponics) and die.
Any plant only likes light fertilization. Applying concentrated fertilizer (especially chemical fertilizer) will cause local root rot and death.
Depending on the size of the plant and the pot, apply 20-40 grains of compound fertilizer (or nitrogen fertilizer) evenly to 1 inch of soil on the edge of the pot every 1-1.5 months, or water once or twice a month with fully fermented rice water or other light water fertilizer. As long as the leaves are green and the flowers are bright and the growth is good, there is no need to fertilize again.
When growing plants indoors, they cannot be placed in a room with insufficient light for a long time. They should be lifted to a sunny place from time to time to supplement the light.
Care and Maintenance
Rose likes light, sunshine, severe cold and drought, and does not require special antifreeze protection in the north in winter. As long as there is no severe drought, it can grow without watering (referring to ground planting). It is not strict with soil requirements. Generally, fertile soil can be properly managed to make it grow vigorously, flourish, and bloom well. .
Roses should be planted in fertile loam at the edge of the field with good ventilation, sunny, irrigation and drainage conditions. Apply an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer in the tree hole before planting, and water thoroughly after planting. Ground-planted roses are not strict on water and fertilizer. Water and fertilize according to the needs of the plants, and spray new lipid film to retain fertilizer and moisture.
Fertilization should be frequent in summer, once every 15 to 20 days, and water should be applied in time after fertilization to prevent seedling burning. Spraying Huahua Zhuangdi Ling during the bud stage can make the buds strong, the petals large, the flowers colorful, the flowers fragrant, and the flowering period extended. Pruning in autumn to prevent excessive growth, which affects the flowering and plant shape. Roses are full of aphids, so pay attention to prevention and control. During the hibernation period, base fertilizer can be applied and winter water can be irrigated to lay the foundation for stable and high yields of buds next year.
01 What month do you plant climbing roses?
02 How to grow climbing roses?
🌹Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil and plant the seeds 1 inch deep, covering the soil with moist soil to promote germination.
🌹Make a bracket: During the growth process of the climbing rose, a strong bracket is needed to assist in climbing. You can use a wire trellis, fence, or other suitable wooden structure.
03 About climbing roses
✔Sunlight: Climbing roses prefer a sunny area (at least three hours of direct sunlight per day).
✔Watering: Water once every two to three days.
✔Soil: Loose, fertile and well-drained soil
✔Germination time: 15 days.
✔Flowering time: It blooms 2 months after germination and can bloom in the first year of planting.
04 Do you have to cut back climbing roses every year?
🌹Climbing roses require regular pruning and grooming. Prune dead and weak branches after blooming in spring to encourage new growth and maintain the beauty of the plant's form.
05 Are climbing roses invasive?
🌹Rosebush roots are often said to be non-invasive, as each plant has a fixed range of movement and cannot grow beyond that range. Rose bushes also won't replace foundations or water pipes because rose rhizomes aren't strong enough.
