Produces the darkest foliage of any astilbe!
This attention-getting variety adds stunning colour and rich texture to shade gardens and other areas of the landscape throughout the growing season. In mid to late summer, it bears lots of large, longlasting plumes, each of which consists of hundreds of tiny, purple flowers tinged in blue. During the rest of the season, it's the divided, fernlike, extremely dark green leaves of Black Pearls that steal the show. Flower plumes are gorgeous in bouquets. Grows easily in regular to moist soil when the earth is not allowed to dry out. Deer-resistant plants grow quickly.Astilbe chinensis
