Known as the ‘King of Tropical Fruits’, durian has captured the hearts of countless people with its unique aroma and rich flavour. Now, with durian potted plants, you can also experience the fun of growing durian at home and feel the wonder and satisfaction of nature.

Planting Guide

• Container: Durian has a well-developed root system, so it is recommended to choose a large pot with a diameter of 40-50cm or more, with drainage holes at the bottom.
• Soil requirements: Use loose acidic soil rich in organic matter, add appropriate amount of river sand to enhance permeability
• Location: Durian likes light and should be placed in a sunny place, such as a south-facing balcony or courtyard.
  Sowing and Seedling
• Sowing: Remove the durian seeds from the fruit, clean them and wrap them in a damp paper towel to germinate, keep them in a moist and warm environment.
• Seedling management: When the seeds germinate, transplant them into pots and keep them lightly sprayed with water every day, avoiding direct sunlight. 

Daily Maintenance

• Light requirement: Durian likes sufficient light, it needs to receive more than 8 hours of sunlight every day, and in winter, it can be supplemented with the help of plant lights.
• Watering Frequency: Keep the soil moist, but avoid waterlogging, each watering is appropriate to wet the bottom of the pot.
• Fertiliser tips: Apply diluted compound fertiliser every month, and before fruiting, apply more organic fertiliser to improve fruit quality.
• Pruning and shaping: Regularly prune excessively long or dense branches to maintain a light and airy canopy.

Durian is suitable to grow in an environment of 25-35°C. When the temperature is lower than 15°C, it needs to be moved indoors to keep warm and maintain more than 50% humidity.
